Just discovered a great money saving product that is great for the environment too. Our utility provider just performed an energy efficiency audit on our old home. In addition to providing weatherstripping and better insulation they installed these really cool little gadgets at our shower heads made by Evolve Shower Products. They are called Shower Start TSV’s (thermostatic shut-off valve). They allow you to turn on your shower to let the water get hot without wasting excess water while you wait. As we all know depending on the temp and time of day you can wait anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes before your shower gets hot enough to use. In the meantime, most of us walk away or do something else to pass the time and when we are done we come back to check the temp. This product will automatically shut-off teh valve once the water temp gets to 95 degrees and then just allows a trickle to come through until you are ready to get in.
